Lighting design is the single most important aspect of a successful interior. It has a major impact on the mood of the home, the richness of fabrics & finishes, and overall visual interest of the space.
We have experience in designing sophisticated lighting plans on systems like Radio Ra or Crestron which enable the client to easily coordinate the lighting at a buttons touch instead of adjusting a dizzying number of dimmers—which is a major inconvenience to many.
Not all homes need a system…many just need a lighting plan with different layers of light to give their home that luxurious warmth that many designer homes display.
Light Fixture Selection:
Fixture design can be daunting even for the most experienced lighting designers. There are so many considerations on choosing a light fixture. We follow architecture of the home for lighting selection, what needs to be lit, how much wattage is needed. Then size, scale, the finish, quality, cost & availability of the fixtures are also major factors. If one of these categories is missing that can begin the search for the right fixture all over again.
Many times fixtures have to be custom sized for custom homes and knowing the right scale and size that is needed takes an experienced eye. That is where the lighting designer comes in and helps guide the client on making the right decision so that the light fixtures flow from one room to another.
